John Peter Kameron
October 25, 1924 - May 05, 2013
Savannah- John Peter Kameron, 88, peacefully passed away surrounded by his loving family Sunday, May 5, 2013 at his residence under the care of Odyssey Hospice. He was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Mary Bunger Kameron, his parents, Frederick H. and Kathleen M. Kameron; two brothers, Frederick and Joseph Kameron, and a sister, Mary Kameron.
John was a native and life-long resident of Savannah. He attended Marist School and graduated from Benedictine Military School in 1942. He proudly served in the United States Army during World War II.
He retired from Continental Can Company. John was a member of the St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee, the Knights of Columbus, and the American Legion. He was a communicant of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church.
John is survived by his seven children, Kathleen Walters Tom, Johnny Kameron Marsha, Patty Levin Barry, Mark Kameron, Mary Grady Sean, Jimmy Kameron Betsy, Anne Dillon Herb,; 13 grandchildren, Matthew, Mark, Erin, Molly, Sean, David, Jack, Margaret, Sarah, Michael, Patrick, Conor, and Addisen.
Visitation: 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church with a Rosary Service at 6:00 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial: 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church with Msgr. P. James Costigan, Celebrant. Burial will follow at Bonaventure Cemetery.
The Kameron family wishes to thank Mr. Kameron's caregivers, Michelle Croasman, Chris Vann, Marie Denham, Lynn Cumbee, and Kristen Cutting for the wonderful care provided to our father.

To all the Kamerons Sharon and I are deeply sorry for the loss of your father. The few holidays that we were lucky enough to have spent with him and your departed mother were truly joyous occasions. I know that the two of them are back together now watching over all of you.

The world has lost a true gentleman and wonderful person . All of us have been trully blessed to have had the priveledge to know Mr. Kameron. My mother and father Vic and Vergie Mell had the distinct priveledge and pleasure to call your mother and father lifelong / and afterlife friends !!!!! We have lost a wonderful man but have gained another angel to watch over us all !!! Lord knows we all need all the help for this crazy world !!! Don't worry Daddy will coach him and momma and Mrs.Kameron will tell them how it should be done !!!! God bless each of you in your sorrow but he will be well taken care of in heaven - heck he's just going to the big BC in the heavens !!!!They ALL lived and breathed BC all of their lives !!!!
